This FAQ is meant to only express my personal opinions, not those of the manufacturer (see the eXplosive Fitness official FAQ). These are questions I had before I bought my own XF 7000 Pro. Remember to seek medical advice prior to starting any rigorous exercise program.
What is static contraction training?

Static Contraction training is a form of isometric exercise whereby you exert as much force as possible (in the strongest postition in the range of motion) in order to activate as many muscle fibers as possible. It is a short, high intensity workout. For more info, check out Precision Training.

How do I know it will work for me?

Here are some exercises for a static contraction workout you can do yourself, if you can find a power rack and a leg press machine at a gym near you.

Where can I test the XF 7000 Pro system myself?

If you live near me in Southern California, you can contact me to arrange a visit to try out my XF 7000 Pro. If you do not live near me, check where to see if there is anyone near you. If you don't live near any of these XF 7000 Pro owners, be sure to register your name and email address at eXplosive Fitness as they will periodically email special discount offers.

How many exercises can I do on the XF 7000 Pro?

How often should I work out on the XF 7000 Pro?

Static Contraction is a high intensity workout, so it is recommended to allow sufficient time between workouts for recovery. The system comes with one year of My Strength Coach. MSC starts you out with two workouts (A and B) scheduled three days apart (with a three day target workout window), alternating workouts/exercises (only one rep for each exercise). When your progress starts to slow as your workouts become more intense, MSC will add more days between workouts, in order to allow your body more time to recover and build more muscle.

How much room do I need to use the XF 7000 Pro?

The system is fairly compact, however it does take some room to set up the leg and toe press, since you have to insert the rails into the Leg Press attachment, and the rails are fairly long. I'd say you need approximately a 9' deep by 4' wide area to set up the leg press, but the bench press only takes up just over 4'. With the bench in the up position, the system can be stored in a 3' deep by 4' wide area (it is approximately 6'2" high).

Why did you buy the XF 7000 Pro?

My name is Jeff and I live in Southern California. I am an over-stressed 44 year old IT professional, who spends too much time in front of the TV eating fast food. My blood pressure is too high and I am overweight, so I needed to do something about it now. I have trouble keeping motivated to exercise (it's a chore). I wanted a system where I could lift as much weight as possible without hurting myself, one that did not take up my entire garage (in fact, the XF 7000 Pro is not even in my garage!). I wanted a strength building program that did not require me to spend hours working out every week (if I get too sore too much of the time, then I feel burnt out and I do not want to exercise). I'm commiting myself to losing 100 pounds of fat and gaining 20 pounds of muscle (so far I've lost 20 lbs in three months due to nutrition changes and using the XF 7000 Pro; I still have trouble though motivating myself to get on my treadmill). I now look forward to each and every workout on my XF 7000 Pro. I love being able to work out at home, and not having to worry if I have too much or too little weight. I look at puchasing and using my XF 7000 Pro as an investment in my health.

This system sounds too easy, what is the catch?

The XF 7000 Pro is really easy to use, but "giving it all you got" on each and every exercise (in order to surpass what you did in your last workout) really does take a lot of effort. In my experience, my nutrition and rest are just as important as my exercise (when I eat "unhealthily" and don't get enough sleep, and I am under a lot of stress, my performance using the XF 7000 Pro suffers). This system is just a tool to help me achieve my goals, not a magic pill, I still have to put in the effort. Since it supports thousands of pounds of resistance, it can withstand a lot of effort! This system is for building strength and muscle (more muscle burns more calories, which is great for long term weight loss), but in my opinion, it is not a substitute for low intensity exercise for burning fat, such as walking.

Once I order the system, how long does it take before it is delivered?

Check with eXplosive Fitness, as it could take as long as four weeks (or longer) to get your new system. When I ordered my system they were just starting to produce their newer model (the XF 7000 Pro), so I waited for a few months to receive mine. Their previous system was two different pieces of equipment which used chains and took up more space, so I am glad I got the new system, even though I had to wait a few months for it.

Is there anything else I need that does not come with the XF 7000 Pro?

You will definitely need a good pair of workout gloves, the metal bar can be rough on your bare hands. I also would recommend some sort of exercise mat to put underneath the XF 7000 Pro. See my Fitness Related Links for other items to help track your progress, such as MyoTape body tape measure and Accu-Measure body fat calipers.
